FLOOGLYTICS = Flash + Google Analytics
Flash and Google Analytics = FLOOGLYTICS Flash has always been considered the ugly step sister in the world of SEO and Analytics. Well now Flash takes "Center Stage". Using Google Analytics data can be extracted from Flash that could never be pulled from HTML. This session will explore the ins-and-outs of how to setup Google Analytics to work most effectively with your Flash files and how to set up Flash to work most effectively with your Google Analytics account. Go beyond just seeing what users did. See what users meant to do or even wanted to do but didn't. The most important part of the equation is how to refine this gold that Flash and Google Analytics provide. Walk away from this session armed with the tools you need to implement Flooglytics and make your site effective.

Every year I am an avid reoslution maker and keeper. I love to set golas and achieve them. It all started in High School when I made a resolution with my best friend and cousin Vaughn Jensen to drink no soda for the entire year. That was the first time that I set (and kept) a new years resolution.
I have many resolutions but I won't list them all here. The ones I will list relate to this blog and to my life as Flash professional.
So here are my New Years Resolutions in no particular order:
Post every ActionScript Error that Flash/Fex will ever produce.
Speak on Flash/ Flex/ ActionScript at 3 conferences this year (at least 1 major)
Reply to all valid blog comments within 24 hours.
Post a Flash tutorial at least once a month (12+ total).
Organize all posts into the "Grand Poobah" list of all AS3 errors.
Create an AIR app that contains all the errors from my blog.
Get my training published on RMI and Lynda.
Win one major award for a Flash project that I complete.
Get ACE re-certified in Flash CS4, Flash Lite and Flex

I will be presenting again this year at TTIX. This year I will be talking on the GoCourse Learning System. The topic will be "Challenges and Advantages of Online Learning". This will be a fun and interactive session. Everyone attending will get a login and can test drive the system. For more details visit the TTIX website.
Thanks to Thor for having me come present in the Multimedia Dept. The class was great. As promised here are the links to examples, applications, and books that I talked about.
AS3 Design Patterns - A very advanced read but great for working with OOP (Flex only)
Intermediate Books
How to Cheat in Flash - Chris Georgenes- This is an excellent book for doing the sexy things in Flash. Heavy focus on animation and cartoons and is a great resource for col effects
Sams Teach yourself Flash CS3 in 24 hours - Phillip Kerman - Phillip is great. I really enjoy seeing him at conferences and reading his new letter that he gives me every time I see him. I was able to review this book before it was published. Phillip is and always will be a fantastic teacher of Flash.
AS3 Game Programming University - Only buy this book if you have never used Flash. The games are good BASIC games but the graphics are horrible and the examples don't really teach the prinicples behind game design.
Flash CS3 The missing manual. - You might as well buy the Dummies book(see below) if you are going to buy this one. Not a good place to start. Not comprehensive. Not well written.
Flash CS3 On Demand - This book should not be allowed to be called CS3 because some of the examples are not even using AS3. If you own Flash 8 then you will want this book but not for CS3.
Flash CS3 for Dummies - You are not a dumb, but may feel like it after spending any money on this book. They do have good cartoons though.
